About Me

With the unexpected loss of my father at a young age, I learned early the reality of death and dying. It has been in my face everyday since then. I have cultivated an approach of acceptance with it, as what other choice do we have. I have leaned on the Serenity Prayer often because of this, and thank my mother for teaching this to me.

As a hospice social worker I have formed a deep love for working with those at the end of life’s spectrum. Those that know how precious time is and are reminded of what matters most. Especially, I have grown to love and appreciate my elders in a way I had not experienced prior to hospice. The knowledge they hold, and the very different world they come from, I find invaluable.

Just a Tad More…

Hailing from Wiyot Land on the North Coast of California, I am most comfortable running around redwoods, swimming in rivers, enjoying a bonfire at the beach, or sharing space and time with the special people in my life. While the slow pace of NorCal is home, I have recently reveled in the delights of Portland, Oregon and currently share my life, and work, in both places.

I received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Humboldt State University, eventually obtaining a social work license in the state of Oregon. As a generalist social worker my primary focus has been with tribal nations and hospice care. With a recent pivot to working independently, I look forward to entrenching myself in the community and working directly with the people in order to share the knowledge and expertise I have gained.
